Who We Are

Founded in early 2023, Right to Live is a nationally registered non-profit organization whose mission is to bring advocacy, awareness and direct action opportunities to the Canadian public about the issue of poverty motivated euthanasia and suicide amongst the Canadians with disabilities community. We are currently an entirely volunteer-based organization with over forty active volunteers and growing. Blending advocacy & awareness, fundraising, and direct action, along with a careful selection of digital and physical strategies, we aim for the best result possible for both impact and growth.

Our Mission
Right to Live's core mission is to fight systemic poverty-driven euthanasia and suicide amongst Canadians with Disabilities. We combine the most effective direct and indirect methods of making an impact towards this mission into a synergistic system. We have two direct action programs: an active food-based poverty reduction program that alleviates the suffering that motivates euthanasia and suicide, and a planned M.A.I.D emergency fund to provide a lifeline of emergency support to those actively in the process of applying. Meanwhile, our indirect methods combine awareness, advocacy and education with fundraising across digital and in-person mediums to form a singular cohesive marketing and action effort. This effort cultivates the necessary support amongst the public for the correction of the system design of the provincial and federal disability support systems that currently cause and enforce poverty. It also provides opportunities to the public for them to act upon being made aware of this issue: by funding our direct action programs, by utilizing tools for personal action and advocacy, by participating in volunteering, by joining as a supporting member, and more.
